Lumby - Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrades

The proposed project will rehabilitate the existing wastewater treatment facility which is 50 years old and construct a new treatment process building. The upgrades will allow the facility to meet the ammonia and phosphorus removal requirements, increase the treatment process redundancy, and increase the treatment capacity. The lagoons are unlined and the project would install lagoon liners as the current lagoons are believed to be leaking into Bessette Creek. The project works will include: - Installation of a new mechanical screen and foul air treatment equipment; - Installation of aeration equipment; - Installation of 2 new lagoon liners; - Reconfiguration of lagoons; - Installation of new ammonia and phosphorus removal equipment; - Installation of new ultraviolet disinfection system; - Upgrades to lagoon 3; - Installation of new outfall and diffuser; - Construction of new treatment process building; and, - Necessary appurtenances, civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
