The Lviv Water and Wastewater Project aims to improve the efficiency of Lviv Water and Wastewater Company's (LVK) technical, commercial, and financial operations through a management and operations improvement advisory services contract, and enhance LVK's financial capacity through reducing operating costs, better justified investment selection, progressive full-cost recovery policies, and effective consumer-oriented commercial practices. There are six components in the project. 1) The water supply - initial defined investments component will finance rehabilitation of pumping stations, establishment of pressure zones, replacement of pipelines, and purchase of repair and construction equipment. 2) The wastewater component will rehabilitate Wastewater Treatment Plants 1 and 2 , and replace pumping units at the main pumping station of the wastewater treatment facility. 3) The Operating Fund component will finance investments as well as institutional strengthening and other expenditures identified as needed. 4) The institutional strengthening component will finance management and advisory operations improvement advisory services, and incremental expenses of the implementation.ntation unit. 5) The engineering and construction supervision services component will support engineering services and construction supervision services of various components of the project. 6) The auditors' fees component will cover the costs of engagement of external auditors during implementation.
