Lynden Water Supply Enhancement Project

under construction

The city of Lynden, Washington, is addressing water shortages caused by reduced summer flows in the Nooksack River due to climate change. The project includes diverting winter river flows to recharge aquifers, repurposing a former water association well to convey water into the Nooksack River upstream of the city's intake, and redirecting clean water from a local Darigold plant into the river to augment supply. The aquifer recharge helps sustain river flows during dry summer months.
