Mach mit - Wir gestalten Europas Zukunft

ended

" ""Join in! Let's shape Europe's future"" promotes town twinning and gives citizens the opportunity to broaden their perspective and to discover the European identity and lived diversity. The project will strengthen the sense of belonging and highlight the benefits of the community. It includes methods for active participation and involvement of citizens of all ages and society groups. The program reinforces mutual understanding and tolerance and the scope promotes the exposure to policy priorities like EU values, equality, engagement and future challenges. It encourages the understanding of the EU and its history in a time of Euroscepticism and Corona crisis. The project aims at reactivating a European network of the twinned towns, after overcoming the challenges of Corona. There will be 250 local and 58 international guests directly involved in this bilateral meeting. Discussions, exhibitions, video design and lectures motivate the participants to actively engage with the EU values and the future of the integration process. Climate protection, structural change and the positive effects of the EU on a local level will be discussed and visualized. The awareness of the project will rise by the inclusion of two local events, demonstrated with EU-logos and public relations. By mobilizing citizens at local and Union levels to debate on issues from the European political agenda, this measure will promote civic participation and develop opportunities for social engagement and volunteering. It will be achieved with Best Practice exchange and workshops with experienced multipliers and local MEPs. Main topics will be the role of the Parliament, EU achievements, future goals and citizens’ participation opportunities. An exhibition and an input about modern twinning will provide ideas for a multilateral network in the future. Different methods will provide outcomes like videos, booklets, drawings, a commemorative publication and an idea board with future demands and ideas. "
