Description	The project involves the construction of Machilipatnam Port, a deep sea port located on the coast of Bay of Bengal in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh in India. The 1st phase is expected to be completed in 18 months. Machilipatnam will have four berths with capacity of 40 million tonnes in the 1st phase and 150 million tonnes upon completion. The port will handle container, bulk, dry bulk, liquid bulk, general cargo and project cargo. The sponsor is Navayuga Engineering Company Limited on Build-Own-Operate-Transfer basis for a period of 50-year. The project cost is INR 15.9 billion or $ 222.72 million. Construction began in February 2019.
