Madagascar - Education Project III

The Education Project III is designed as a response to the country's low human resources. It was initiated in a context where Madagascar has socio-economic indices, most of which are below the sub-Saharan average. This project is also an instrument for implementing the second National Programme for the Improvement of Education (PNAE 2), which aims to strengthen the education system. The project is expected to contribute to increasing the capacity of the primary education sub-sector, providing the necessary infrastructure for the vocational rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and improving the technical and administrative capacity of the management and support structures of the ministries responsible for basic education and vocational training. The project has four components. The first is to improve the capacity of primary education. The second concerns the vocational rehabilitation of people with disabilities. The third component concerns the institutional strengthening of the structures of MINESEB and METFP. The fourth component is project management.
