Madagascar - Health Project II

The Health Project II responds to a real need of the poorest, the most remote and the most disadvantaged populations in terms of accessibility to health infrastructures in the six provinces of the country. It contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the National Health Development Policy (PNS) of Madagascar in general, and those of its Health Master Plan (PDS) in particular. The project takes into account the construction and rehabilitation, the supply of essential drugs, rolling stock equipment and logistics. This is to take over the activities not yet covered by some donors. The establishment of quality health facilities in poor areas combined with the development of maternal and child health / reproductive health (MCH / RH), awareness campaigns on the fight against communicable diseases (STD / AIDS, malaria) and cervical cancer, will necessarily contribute to improving the health status of the population and, therefore, will increase economic productivity. The project is divided into five components, namely: (i) development of quality health services at the health district level; (ii) institutional strengthening and human resource development; (iii) the supply of essential drugs; (iv) improving the well-being of the family; (v) project management.
