Madagascar - Intermediate Health Infrastructure Strengthening Project

This intervention concerns the Intermediate Health Infrastructure Strengthening Project. The project aims to acquire and deliver equipment and materials for the eleven existing medical and surgical hospitals (HMC) and fourteen simple secondary hospitals (HSS). It contributes to the improvement of rural health services and supports the government's efforts to strengthen and improve intermediate health facilities located in rural or semi-rural areas. This contribution consists either in a very first allocation of equipment to some of these training courses or in replacing equipment that has become too old in hundreds of others. The main components of the project are: (a) supply of hospital equipment and supplies and generators for 25 rural hospitals and (b) construction of 20 generator shelters and the renovation of rooms to house hospital equipment.
