Madagascar - Structural Adjustment Programme (SAL III)

This intervention focuses on Structural Adjustment Program Phase III (SAP III) 1999-2001. It’s part of the government's extensive program of enhanced reforms, covering the period 1999-2001. The program aims to accelerate the rate of growth and substantially reduce poverty. SAP III has three components, namely: (i) support to the participatory process of developing a poverty reduction strategy, including the development of technical capacity; (ii) improving governance and institutional support to promote private sector development; and (iii) financial support to the balance of payments to contribute to the achievement of the macroeconomic objectives.
