Description

Description

The project for the Development of Sewerage Master Plans for eight secondary cities in Madagascar (SDAUM) is part of the Malagasy Government's 2013-2018 priorities for sanitation. It enables the Government and town halls, in the targeted cities, to have an investment program and tools for better management and coordination of interventions in the sanitation sector. The project is structured in two (02) components: (i) the development studies of SDAU, APDs (Detailed Pre-Projects) and DAO (Bidding Documents); and (ii) project management. The main short-term results are: (i) sanitation stakeholders, at both central and decentralized levels, will be trained and sensitized to the integrated management of wastewater in urban areas; (ii) the main secondary cities will be provided with sewerage master plans based on the integrated approach of urban waste management; (iii) a minimum of 4 urban centers will benefit from bankable projects arising from their SDAU; (iv) the financial resources required for the implementation of the priority projects will be mobilized.
