The Project consists of renovating community road, St. Basile No. 10, which was built in 2007. Over the years, the curbing has been significantly damaged to the point that storm water running down the road, spills through broken curbing, causing significant damage to the properties along the road. This problem has led to one home having its basement completely flooded. The water spilling behind the broken curbing is causing eroding to the road. The project consists of replacing the asphalt curbing with concrete curbing along 1km of the road. This road improvement is needed to ensure the safety of the homes of and residents along the road as a result of increased volume of storm water and frequency of unpredictable weather as a result of climate change. Rehabilitating the curbing will improve reliability of the road infrastructure that will benefit community members in Madawaska Maliseet First Nation.
