Description | Information A Procurement-cum-Maintenance Agreement [PCMA] was signed on 30-11-2015 between Ministry of Railways and Madhepura Electric Locomotive Pvt. Ltd [MELPL], Joint Venture of Ministry of Railways and Alstom Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd. for setting up Electric Locomotive Factory at Madhepura, Bihar, supply of 800 nos of 12000 HP Electric Locomotives and setting up two maintenance depots at Saharanpur & Nagpur for maintenance of these locomotives.? Against this agreement 800 nos Electric Locomotives of 12000 HP shall be supplied by the JV company to Indian Railways. Out of 800, 370 locomotives have been supplied till October,2023, which are in operation.
