Information Irrigation & Water Resources-UP has come up with Madhya Ganga canal Phase-II with a ticket size of 4417.21 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project is included under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, PMKSY-AIBP and prioritized in 2016 for early completion. It envisages construction of followings. [i] Head regulator is situated on left bank head regulator with three openings of size 8m X 5.7m with sill level at EL 217.00m has already been constructed earlier along with Madhya Ganga Canal, Bijnor. [ii] Main canal is 66.2 km long has been designed as c c tile lned lined with 147 cumecs discharge capacity up to silt ejector and 121.8 cumecs beyond it. [iii] Bahjoi Branch canal is 50.800 km long unlined branch canal designed to carry 60.00 cumec discharge at head for catering to demand of 115845 ha culturable command area. [iv] Chandausi Branch Canal is 60km long unlined branch canal designed to carry 42.60 cumec discharge at head for catering to demand of 79427 ha culturable command area. [v] Distribution system is 1065.00 km long distribution system comprising unlined major and minor distributaries. During inclusion of Project under PMKSY-AIBP in 2016 Balance Cost of the Project was Rs 3277.97 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 92.00 crore CA released since 2016 till march 2023 is 63.80 crore State Share released through NABARD under LTIF till march is Rs crore Physical progress 93.00 percentage Financial Progress 99.00 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 146530 Ha Irrigation Potential created till march 2023 is 124000 Ha Projected Date of Completion December 2023
