Description

Perth-based Green Wind Renewables Pty Ltd intends to build an over 450-MW wind park in Western Australia, another large-scale project planned to connect to the South-West Interconnected System (SWIS). Dubbed the Mahogany Wind Farm, the scheme envisages the construction of a plant with up to 75 turbine generators with a maximum tip height of 170 metres. The complex will be located between the Shires of Coorow and Dandaragan, near Warradarge in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt. The project has completed the feasibility phase and is now in early development. Its construction is anticipated to take two years to complete. Once operational, it will produce over 1.5 TWh of electricity annually, enough to cover the power consumption of around 250,000 homes per year. This project follows Green Wind's plans for the 600-MW Ambrosia wind farm in Western Australia.
