The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is considering providing a loan to Montenegro for the rehabilitation and upgrade of the Tivat-Jaz road section (approx. 16km) that is part of the overall 51km ‘Montenegro Main Roads Reconstruction Project’. The whole project is divided into three main sections as follows: Section 1: Rehabilitation of the Rozaje-Spiljani road section (approx. 20km); Section 2: Rehabilitation and upgrade of the Danilovgrad-Podgorica road section (approx. 15km); and Section 3: Rehabilitation and upgrade of the Tivat-Jaz road section (approx. 16km); The proposed Tivat-Jaz road section  includes the reconstruction and widening of the existing road from 2 to 4 lanes, the reconstruction of river crossings and upgrading of intersections as well as financing of supervising engineers, implementation assistance to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and institutional components. The Project Implementation Unit under the Transport Administration of Montenegro will implement the Project. There is a Project Summary Document available for this project for Sections 1 and 2. A Project Summary Document for Section 3 will be disclosed in accordance with timing requirements in the Access to Information Policy and Directive. Please note: Section 1 has already been Board approved on 1 November 2017 and signed on 7 December 2017; Section 2 has already been Board approved on 3 December 2019 and committed on 13 December 2019. This ESIA disclosure is dealing with the currently uncommitted Cat A road section 3  Tivat-Jaz, and the Board discussion for this part of the Project is expected on 15/16 December 2020.
