The Mainline Optimization Phase 1 project by Enbridge will expand crude oil pipeline capacity from Alberta, Canada, to the Midwest and Gulf Coast. It will add 150,000 barrels per day of capacity to Enbridge’s Mainline system through upstream optimizations and terminal enhancements. The project also includes adding 100,000 barrels per day of capacity to the Flanagan South Pipeline with pump stations and terminal enhancements, and will utilize existing capacity on the Seaway Pipeline. This expansion will allow more Canadian heavy oil to be delivered to key refining markets in the Midwest and Gulf Coast, supporting energy security and affordability across North America.
