Description | A major artillery ammunition manufacturing facility established as part of the Shirdi Defence Manufacturing Complex, developed with an investment of around ₹1,000 crore. Spread across approximately 200 acres, it is expected to become one of India's largest private-sector production units for artillery shells, manufacturing up to five lakh 155 mm artillery shells annually using fully indigenous technology and locally sourced raw materials. The complex also supports production of rocket launchers, long-range rocket components, drones, and electronic testing systems, aiming to strengthen India's self-reliance in defence manufacturing. |
