Major Projects of National Interest in Canada

Planned

The Canadian First Ministers agreed to accelerate major projects of national interest that strengthen Canada's autonomy, resilience, and security, support economic growth, have a high likelihood of successful execution, are a high priority for Indigenous leaders, and have clean growth potential. These projects include nation-building infrastructure and corridors such as highways, railways, ports, airports, pipelines, nuclear projects, clean and conventional energy projects, and electricity transmission systems. The initiative aims to streamline project assessment processes, ensure timely project approvals, and enhance Indigenous ownership and partnerships.
