The goal of the major renovation of the J.A. Thompson Hall is necessary for several reasons to ensure the sustainability of the infrastructure and its universal accessibility The interventions are as follows: - Refresh surfaces and floor coverings; - Replace the stage nose and redo the surface coating; - Repair doors and hardware; - Replace the seats and correct the slope at the balcony; - Replace the lifting system; - Change the curtain walls of the canopy; - Redo the masonry; - Redo the waterproofing of the roof - Replace elevator/lift system; - Correct the plumbing elements - Correct the HVAC system; - Correct electrical systems - Improved universal accessibility; - Reconfigure the lodges - Modernize stage equipment; - Add a referral room; - Add toilets; and - Reconfigure the beverage service area in the foyer.
