German-Danish cooperation creates several maker start-ups in the educational institutions: As part of the Interreg 5a programme, a comprehensive cooperation with a number of German and Danish actors in in education and business support using FabLab technology will be carried out. The goal is to ensure that more students emerge as maker start-ups through an increased focus on modern production technology and innovation processes. The need for a strengthened entrepreneurship culture through enhanced cooperation between education and business is a common challenge to several countries in Europe, not least in Germany and Denmark. It is also a cross-border problem to ensure that more students become entrepreneurs, which can be ensured by an increased insight into the possibilities of creating products and services through innovative processes. The project will be based on issues and opportunities in two of the programme area's strength positions of strength environment/cleantech and Health Economics/ Welfare Technolgy and solved by the students using the technology and methodology used in the FabLab* either by the students themselves in startups or in collaborations with companies in the program area. By solving concrete problems, the students will gain a greater insight into what it means to run a business, and develop skills that are in demand in business. The overall vision is to create: • More maker start-ups. • More students who have actual experience with innovation processes and processes where the path from idea to product is very short. • More students who have an interest in and desire to create physical products and thereby create the basis for continued production in Germany and Denmark. • More students who will get "hands-on experience" with modern production technology and will thereby be able to create innovations. The project is organized cross border to create a learning across the border in an area where there has been a rapid development in recent years, and the scope for cooperation is optimal as a result of the technological base, which is the starting point. In this field, where the speed of development is high, both technological and pedagogical, there will be unique synergies in cooperation across the border, both from a business and an educational perspective. * FabLab is short for Fabrication Laboratory and is a prototype workshop, where everyone, by means of, fx 3D printers and laser cutters can produce prototypes quickly, easily and inexpensively.
