Description | The medium-term objective of the Malaria Control Project is to help India create an enhanced and more effective malaria control program that uses a better mix of effective malaria control interventions responsive to local needs; and strengthen the Directorate of the National Malaria Eradication Program (NMP) and modifies its orientation. The long-term objective is to reduce death, morbidity and social and economic losses from malaria. The project will include the following five components: 1) an integrated early detection and prompt treatment of clinical cases component; 2) a selective vector component; 3) a medicated mosquito net program component; 4) an epidemic response and intersectoral collaboration component; and 5) an institutional strengthening component. |
