Malawi - Feasibility Study for District Water Supply II

The consultant will be required to: 1) Make comprehensive assessment of the present and future demands by taking into consideration of such factors as the present population, public, institutional, commercial and industrial water users and making projections of the same. ii) Make a thorough study of the existing water supply and evaluate their reliability to the present and projected District Centres requirements. iii) Study the available water resources and formulate a long-term master plan of the development of the water supplies to all the said rural growth centres up to the year 2005, followed by preparation of a phased priority programme of the necessary works to satisfy demand in then year stages. iv) Prepare an overall implementation programme of the centres' water supply and carry out engineering design of the projects initial stage, make economic and financial analysis with an aim of arriving at a clearly defined project which would require minimum further preparation before implementation.
