Malawi - Mzimba Integrated Urban Water and Sanitation Project

The Mzimba Integrated Urban Water and Sanitation Project (MIUWSP) for Mzimba Town is to contribute to the achievement of the country’s goals as stipulated in the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy (MGDS-II, 2012-2016) and Malawi's Vision 2020 by improving the health and livelihoods of the residents of Mzimba Town, students and staff at the new Mombera University through access to potable water supply and improved sanitation services. The project to be financed by the Bank, OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and the Government of Malawi (GoM)/Northern Region Water Board (NRWB), is estimated to cost UA 16.39 million, and will be implemented over a period of 4 years beginning in the fourth quarter of 2015.
