Description | The Malaysia government have just published the proposed route for the Chinese-financed 600km East Coast Rail Link. The public have three months to comment on the proposals. The East Coast Rail Link starts at Port Klang on the west coast of Malaysia near Kuala Lumpur and crosses peninsular Malaysia to link up with the north-eastern states, and ending at Kelantan near the Thai border. Some 23 stations are included in the plans. The East Coast Rail Link is intended to accelerate economic development and cut the journey time between Kuala Lumpur to Kelantan from a 12-hour drive to a four-hour train ride when complete in 2024. |
