Description

Description

Continuing on from the successful ongoing campaign MALAGRI—funded as part of IMCAP-2024-INFOME—the project Maldita Agricultura 2.0 sets out overall to promote a better informed urban population in Spain, particularly young persons under 30, about the CAP as well as national and European agriculture issues, through evidence-based multi-format and multiplatform journalistic content that debunks misinformation and misperceptions disseminated through targeted social media campaigns tailored to young urban audiences. Maldita.es, a leading European fact-checking outlet, will employ its proven capacities and expertise developing and disseminating reliable evidence-based journalistic and social media content for young audiences in order to ensure that Spanish citizens, especially those under 30, have a better awareness and understanding of the EU Common Agricultural Policy and its utility and counter misinformation and misperceptions in Spanish about agriculture and rural life amongst young urbanites. Mobilising an experienced team of specialised journalists, an extensive community of engaged citizens, and wide-reaching connections within the national media ecosystem, we will develop and implement a national multi-platform and multi-format communication campaign that will be specifically designed to reach a significant number of young citizens residing in Spanish urban areas. This campaign will involve the development of journalistic content such as debunks of circulating misinformation, explainer articles providing clarity to the CAP and its objectives, and in-depth investigations into the CAP impact across different areas of public interest. This journalistic material will then be adapted into engaging multimedia content for dissemination on social media and innovative media literacy materials, including visual graphics, to reach citizens in diverse, non-traditional, and youth-dominated media and information environments, along with additional impact in local outlets.
