Mali - Village Hydraulics Project in Mali (CEAO Program)

The present intervention concerns the Village Hydraulic Project in Mali (CEAO Programme). The project consists of 270 water points that should ensure a permanent supply of 10 to 20 litres of drinking water per day and per inhabitant. It is expected to benefit about 145,000 people in the Kayes and Koulikoro regions, where the water problem is particularly acute. The project is expected to stimulate industrial production by facilitating the rapid evacuation and distribution of manufactured goods from this region. The main components of the project are as follows: (A) siting studies and geophysical prospecting, (B) drilling, (C) modern wells, (D) tank wells, (E) pump supply and installation, (F) village animation, and (G) works supervision and control.
