Description

Description

The MELIITA 2 project is a consolidation of the outcomes and successes resulting from the previous SGA and it continues to address the limited exploitation of international opportunities and innovation prospects by the business community within the Maltese Islands. The consortium will strengthen its efforts to support clients with higher ambitions to grow, innovate and engage in business or technology partnering activities, through the Network’s deeper, tailored support services. Such clients will be identified through the innate knowledge of the territory and consequently through the extensive individual company review exercise that will be undertaken. This approach will convey a strong message of commitment and a credible common front for client micros and SMEs. An improved harmonisation of current services [in association with other stakeholders], the additionality of an enhanced quality design of business support services and the European dimension attributed to these activities, fit in perfectly with the national development strategy of Malta. During the period in question it is envisaged that considerable focus will be on actions related to cross-border partnering activities for business cooperation, technology transfer, innovation and research. The network will assist and accompany client SMEs along the entire partnership process – from the identification of suitable partnering opportunities to focused advisory services to the actual participation in events. This will assist the SME to tap new markets, embrace innovation and diversify its income streams. It is augured that the final impact of these initiatives will contribute towards a more competitive and sustainable business community within the European Union.
