Mamaawi Lodge: Expanding Green Spaces for an Inclusive Future

pre-construction

Prospective

The Mamaawi Lodge Expansion project involves a substantial addition to Aboriginal Experiences, Art and Culture’s cultural performance and education facility, addressing the growing demand for its programming. The expansion will add to the existing pavilion, creating space for an artisan marketplace, office, makerspace, classroom, storage, washrooms, and more. Upgrades to the current pavilion will include refinishing the event space, energy-efficient lighting, new AV and stage systems, and enhancements to the building envelope such as re-cladding, new windows, doors, insulation, and barriers. A new heat pump, septic system, and hydro service upgrades will further improve sustainability. This expansion enhances the organization’s ability to offer culturally immersive and educational experiences, benefiting Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities by promoting cultural understanding and reconciliation.
