Manchester United 100,000-Seater Stadium Project

delayed

Manchester United plans to build a new 100,000-seat stadium adjacent to their current Old Trafford ground, envisioned as a 'Wembley of the North' and a world-leading venue. The project is part of a larger regeneration plan expected to generate significant economic uplift, jobs, and new homes. The stadium design is by Foster + Partners and includes features like a vast umbrella-like roof and sustainable infrastructure. However, the project is currently stalled due to a land acquisition dispute with Freightliner, whose parent company Brookfield demands a much higher price than the club's valuation, risking delays to the planned construction start by the end of 2025.
