Description | The Manhize Dinson Iron and Steel Plant (DISCO) in Zimbabwe is a strategic industrial catalyst aimed at supporting the growth of steel fabrication, boiler making, industrial pipe manufacturing, mining equipment production, construction engineering, and advanced manufacturing. The project envisions developing a steel engineering and industrial ecosystem around the plant to capture the full economic value of mineral resources, create skilled employment, reduce imports, and position Zimbabwe as a regional engineering and manufacturing hub. The initiative includes establishing an industrial development zone, developing national steel beneficiation policies, creating industrial skills programs, innovation centers, supplier development programs, regional export strategies, and international partnerships. |
