Information South Central Railway [SCR] - II has come up with Manoharabad - Kothapalli New Rail Line [151 km] with a ticket size of 1160.48 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Manoharabad - Kothapalli New Rail Line [151 km] starts from Manoharabad, sub-urban station on the Hyderabad - Nizamabad line and joins at Kothapalli station in Karimnagar district. The objective of this project is to develop backward areas of Siddipet, Medak and Karimnagar Districts and connect the fast growing places viz., Gajwel, Siddipet, Siricilla and Karimnagar city with Secunderabad with a rail linkage at Manoharabad on Secunderabad-Nizamabad Section. It will boost the industrial sector in the area and relieve the congestion of over saturated grand trunk route. The project was sanctioned in the year 2006-2007 at the Abstract cost of Rs. 308.04 crore and the detailed estimated cost is Rs. 1160.47 crore.Tentative Revise Estimate cost will be 2250 crs. 1/3rd cost of the project will be shared by Government of Telangana, besides providing land free of cost. The line is proposed to be taken up in 5 phases. Phase-I [31.07km] from Mahoharabad to Gajwel, Phase-II [12.25km] from Gajwel to Kodakandla, Phase-III [21.55 km] from Kodakandla to Duddeda. Phase IV[44.48Km] Duddeda to Sircilla and Phase-V[42.01km] Sircilla to Kothapalli. The total land required for the project is 1119.8 ha. Out of which, 838.733 ha is in physical possession. Phase-I [31.071kms] CRS inspection was completed on 18-06-2020 authorisation was given at a maximum speed of 60 KMPH on 19-06-2020 and commissioned on 26.8.2020 & Phase-II [12.25kms] CRS inspection was completed on 11-02-2022 authorisation was given at a maximum speed of 60 KMPH on 28-02-2022 and commissioned on 26.04.2022 and in phase III is in progress. State Government has requested to provide funds to the extent of Rs. 106.15 cr. towards their share for the current FY2022-23. There is short fall of Rs.106.15 Crs from State Government of Telangana.
