Description | The project involves the construction of transmission lines and substations in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais by Mantiqueira Transmissora de Energia, a joint venture between Brookfield and ACS. Brookfield owns 50% in Mantiqueira through its private equity fund Brasil Energia Fundo de Investimento em Participações, while ACS holds its 50% stake through its subsidiary Cymi Holding. The total investment is expected to be around BRL 3.4 billion ($810 million). Brazilian development bank BNDES will provide a loan of BRL 2.76 billion ($658.22 million). Commercial banks are expected to provide guarantees. Financial close was reached on 18 November 2019. The project involves the construction of the following transmission lines (TL) and substations (SS): TL 345 kV Itutinga – Jeceaba (106km); TL 345 kV Jeceaba - Itabirito (2.44km); SS Itabira 5 500/230 k V , (3 +1R) x 250 MVA; TL 230 kV Itabira 5 - Itabira 2 – C2 (16km); TL 230 kV Irapé - Araçuai 2 C2 (61km); SS João Monievade 4 230/69kV, (3+1R) x 25 MVA; TL 230 kV Irapé - Janaúba 3 (130km); SS 230/138 kV Janaúba 3, (3+1R) x 75 MVA; SS Braúnas, 230/138kV 3x53,33 MVA and 230/161-138kV (3+1R )x 53,33 MVA; SS Timóteo 2 230/69 kV (3+1R) x 20 MVA; SS Presidente Juscelino 500/345kV, (3+1R) x 400MVA; TL 500 kV Presidente Juscelino - Pirapora 2, C1 and C2 (177km each circuit); TL 500 kV Presidente Juscelino - Itabira 5 (162km); TL 345 kV Betim 6 – Sarzedo (23km); TL 345 kV Betim 6 - Sete Lagoas 4 (47km); TL 345 kV Sete Lagoas 4 - Presidente Juscelino, Cl and e C2 (101km each circuit); TL 345 kV Itabirito 2 - Barro Branco (57km); SS Sarzedo 345 KV; SS Betim 6 345/138 kV, (6+1R) x 100 MVA; and SS Varqinha 4 345/138 kV (6+1R) x 75 MVA.
