Maple Mini Park

Maple Mini Park is a .77-acre neighborhood pocket park located in Northeast Lynnwood. This park’s current primary function is a stormwater detention facility. The park currently has a playground (installed in 1989), open lawn, and picnic tables. Approximately 3,200 people are within a 10-minute walk of the park. The park is often inundated by standing water, restricting access to the play area much of the year. Additionally, the park does not currently meet ADA standards and there is no ADA designated parking. Proposed improvements include: Installation of a stormwater system of underground chambers. These will elevate the park amenities. New play area Open lawn On-street ADA parking Accessible ADA route Stormwater educational signage Picnicking amenities Project benefits: Improves the existing detention pond by maximizing treatment and increasing the volume. Reduce urban flooding and treat runoff from 20 acres of high-use roadways and residential areas with 100% treatment efficiency. Provides year-round access for all ages and abilities. Provide ADA parking and an accessible route to park features. Include interpretive signage to educate visitors of the Demonstration Park roles, benefits, and uses of stormwater management.
