Description

Description

The Marché International du Film Classique (MIFC) is the world's one and only physical market dedicated to the heritage film industry. Once a year in October, to coincide with the renowned Lumière festival celebrating classic cinema in Lyon (France), the MIFC brings together for 4 days all the international professionals in the industry in a dedicated venue designed for networking, with a program of editorialized meetings and a range of BtoB tools. A catalyst for meetings and a matchmaker for projects, the MIFC strengthens the circulation and distribution of European works on an international scale by stimulating commercial exchanges, sharing key data, promoting innovative practices and encouraging international cooperation. In the current context of change in the sector, due on the one hand to the necessary ecological and societal transition at all levels of the chain, and on the other hand to recent major technological innovations in the audiovisual sector, the MIFC fulfills its mission of structuring and energizing the ecosystem of heritage film professionals. Anticipate trends and keep abreast of innovations - in terms of conservation media, restoration and viewing tools, new ways of distributing and consuming images - and prospect for new territories, cinema trends and eras with under-exploited potential, promoting new educational practices and new marketing tools for training and expanding audiences - all of which contribute, in an eco-responsible and inclusive way, to the promotion and distribution of European heritage cinema works on the world market, are dealt with and developed within the MIFC.
