Marcopolo, one of the largest bus body producers in the world, operates in three plant sites in Brazil and five additional sites in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal and South Africa. In line with this strategy, Marcopolo is constantly developing new product lines, modernizing equipment and streamlining operations to reduce costs, and seeking opportunities in new markets. Marcopolo’s proposed investment program consists of: maintaining and upgrading equipment over the next 3 years; financing working capital needs stemming from both existing and expected growth in production; and refinancing existing short-term debt. The proposed investment would likely be in the form of corporate loans to Marcopolo and to Polomex S.A de C.V. (Polomex). Polomex is a joint venture with Mercedes-Benz in Mexico.
