Description | The Project consists of upgrading a bridge on Marine Drive in the Town of Old Perlican. The scope involves replacing the bridge with a safer and well-engineered design. The project design will take into account a number of considerations including heavy repeated loading from large trucks; brackish standing water and salt water spray; longer life design and reliability; and ensuring the replacement is up to current codes. The lifespan of the asset is expected to extend to 40 years. Replacement of the bridge will allow access to a fish plant for commercial vehicles which are currently using a smaller rural road. The rural road is intended for residential use, but due to re-routing of larger vehicles a public safety issue has been created. Repair of the aforementioned infrastructure will alleviate this issue. |
