Description | Main objective : The proposed project will seek to advance the adoption of marine energy on the island communities of le Parc Naturel Marin d’Iroise (Finistère) and the Isles of Scilly (Cornwall). The partners will identify specific opportunities and issues faced by peripheral and island communities in exploiting marine renewable energy resources. Their aim is to develop tool kits and resources for use by other similar communities, located on the programme eligible areas and beyond. Main actions : - Technology Support: Development and exchanges of best practices for the cartography and measurements of tidal and wave power resources. Review of current literature regarding environmental impacts technologies using wave energy or other marine renewable energies. Transfer and development of skills on environmental assessment Study on the creation and optimization of anchorage systems for marine devices Report on best practices associated to installation procedures, exploitation and maintenance requirements of marine energy devices. - Public policies and regulation Oversight of current policy and regulatory frameworks applicable to marine energy in Cornwall and Finistère Assessment of different support instruments to encourage deployment, innovation & investment Report on state of the art practices in safety risk management - Sustainable economic development Identification of best practice in development of supply chains for marine renewable energy Identification and development of procurement code to increase local businesses opportunities and participate to the marine energy sector development Identification of the key skills capacity/needs required to support marine renewable developments in both regions Development of develop a transferable framework for sustainable economic development Identification of the regional logistical needs of ports in the deployment of marine renewable energies. Stockholder engagment Review and sharing of best practice and approaches Developing news methods. |
