The Marinus Link project is a new undersea power and telecommunications interconnector between Victoria and Tasmania, Australia. It involves the design, testing, supply, and installation of a high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system consisting of 320 kV single-core cables with XLPE insulation, covering both submarine and land sections. The project includes a fully integrated permanent monitoring system for the interconnector, with a capacity of 750 MW for its first stage, facilitating efficient power transfer between the two states to support renewable energy distribution and emissions reduction targets.
