Description | Plans have been submitted for a wind farm near Loch Ryan in the south-west corner of Scotland. The project involves building seven turbines up to 200m high about three miles north-east of Cairnryan, immediately north of the Penwhirn reservoir. The site would also include a battery energy storage system (BESS) and is expected to meet the energy needs of more than 50,000 homes. The project aims to contribute significantly to Scotland's net zero greenhouse gas emissions commitment, create about 20 jobs, and operate for 40 years. |
