The Market Entry and Expansion project aims to support high potential tech companies to accelerate their entry and expansion into emerging markets or grow their business through expanding into new verticals or (sub-)sectors. Often tech companies are unsure of the needs, opportunities and/or relevance of their products in new markets, and/or find it difficult to engage as they are unsure of market dynamics, local regulations, whether their business model will work, how to access customers, etc. These companies often also lack financial resources to undertake scoping and launch and scale activities in new markets, particularly given uncertainty of success. Under this project, IFC will work with around 10 high potential, high-impact tech companies from around the world to enter/scale in a variety of sectors – providing support to assess market expansion in agreed countries, deliver a road map and recommendations for market entry, and providing more in-depth support when agreed.
