Market Parkade Rehabilitation and Repairs

The City’s transit terminal (which also services GO Transit buses) is located approximately 500m from our main parkade (a 3 level parkade for approx. 500 vehicles). The parkade serves as the main parking lot for citizens utilizing public transit and the City expects with the recent addition of all day GO transit services additional riders will utilize the parkade. While there are other surface parking lots in the area, the City owned parkade is the main lot and offers the lowest monthly rate for parking lots. In order to service customers, the parkade must undergo structural and other renovations ($4.3M in total needs). To date this is in the City’s capital forecast but has been un-affordable or requires debt funding to complete it.
