Marshfield Data Center

under construction

A new data center is being constructed in Marshfield, Webster County, Missouri, located on Rifle Range Road near the power substation north of the city. The project is controversial with residents expressing concerns about transparency, energy requirements, water usage, discharge, and environmental impact. The site currently covers 5 acres with an additional 5 acres being surveyed. The developer classifies it as a Level 3 development, which is larger than initially described. Despite some residents wanting to halt the project, the lack of a planning and zoning commission in Webster County has made it difficult to slow progress. Residents are seeking to adopt ordinances similar to those in Camden County to regulate water use and land changes.
