It also provides national and international services through Rostelecom. Martelecom was privatized in December 1993, after the formation of Svyazinvest, the national holding company. Svyazinform held 38% of the common stock, and 51% of the voting rights by 1998. The employees and individual investors constituted the remaining shareholders. The company operated 50,000 access lines by 1996. Became a branch of JSC VolgaTelecom in November 2002. |
