Description
Description | The Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project is a proposed 67-mile transmission line aimed at preventing grid failures such as blackouts and brownouts in Maryland. The project is currently under consideration by the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC). Developers, Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), target approval and construction completion by June 2027, although delays are expected. The project faces opposition from landowners and other stakeholders who have filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing the project will not be completed in time to address reliability issues. PSEG argues the project is essential and that dismissing the case would cause further delays and risks to grid reliability. |
