Description | A newly constructed ramp connecting the Mass Pike (I-90) westbound to I-495 southbound in central Massachusetts was opened to improve safety and alleviate traffic congestion. The project replaces a previous deficient layout where motorists accessed all I-495 exits from a single point, causing backups and increased crash rates. The new interchange features improved acceleration and deceleration lanes and is designed to accommodate higher vehicle volumes more safely. The entire I-90 and I-495 improvement project is expected to be completed by summer 2028. |
