Mass Rapid Transit Line-6 (MRT 6) Development Project

The MRT 6 is a 20.1-kilometre elevated metro rail corridor in Dhaka developed in eight contract packages including depot-related works, civil works for elevated structures, supply of equipment, and rolling stock. The project started partial operation from Uttara to Agargaon in December 2022 and gradually expanded to Motijheel. The project has faced multiple defects and deficiencies in various systems and sub-systems, including signaling, telecom, electrical, civil, and rolling stock, leading to liabilities for the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
