Description | The Massachusetts ResilientCoasts plan provides a detailed set of strategies for statewide flood protection for coastal areas and future coastal communities due to sea level rise. Boston has comprehensive waterfront resilience plans and near-term projects including installing a berm at Ryan Playground and strategies for Long Wharf. The city has set aside $75 million for resilience capital investments, and the state has introduced the Mass Ready Act with a Resilience Revolving Fund for loans to municipalities and expanded funding for the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program. The Boston Green Ribbon Commission is studying investment strategies from other cities to develop a comprehensive funding plan. |
