Description | The Healey-Driscoll Administration announced that 70 projects across Massachusetts are eligible to receive more than $1 billion in low-interest loans for water infrastructure. The funding is designated to upgrade or replace aging drinking water and wastewater systems while reducing energy costs at treatment plants. The investment is distributed through the State Revolving Fund (SRF), administered by the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). The total funding includes approximately $703 million for 41 wastewater construction projects and $315 million for 29 drinking water construction projects, with additional funds for loan forgiveness and specific programs. |
