Information Bharat Coking Coal Limited [BCCL] has come up with Master Plan for Jharia and Raniganj Coalfields with a ticket size of 2661.73 INR Crores. This project in Coal sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Jharia Coalfield and Raniganj Coalfields are facing problems of fire and land subsidence. To rehabilitate affected persons and to undertake fire control, environmental and subsidence control measures, the Central Government approved Master Plan on 12/08/2009. The Master Plan was scheduled to be implemented in 10 years period in two phases each of 5 years. While Rs. 7112.11 cr was earmarked for Jharia Coalfield [JCF] and Rs. 2661.73 cr for Raniganj Coalfields [RCF]. Jharia Rehabilitation & Development Authority [JRDA] and Asansol Durgapur Development Authority [ADDA] are responsible for rehabilitation of Non-BCCL and Non- ECL persons in respective areas. CIL [BCCL & ECL] is responsible for rehabilitation of BCCL and ECL persons. The targeted date of completion includes 2 years of pre implementation period and 10 years of implementation period. Revised Master Plan with revised TDC and cost is under consideration for approval by competent authority for both, Jharia and Raniganj Coalfields.
