Description | The project entails the construction of the 8MW Matuno River small hydro power plant in the Philippines. The plant is located in Barangay San Rafael, Nueva Vizcaya and will generate up to 42GWh of electricity per year and supply it to the Luzon grid. The project has used equipment supplied by Austria-based Global Hydro Energy. The project company is Matuno River Development Corporation (MRDC), majority-owned by Caloocan-based Magis Energy. The SPV received a P1.1 billion ($21.36 million) loan from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), under DBP's Financing Utilities for Sustainable Energy Development.
